Physical Description: About 6' 2" with dark brown hair, almost black, which he keeps cut relatively short, not caring about whether it's 'in style' or not. He's very tan from swimming with his dolphin partner for many hours and muscular, almost looking like a smith with his broad shoulders and six-pack. His nose is slightly large for his face and he has brown eyes. Riel doesn't care about his clothes, just throwing on a pair of pants/shorts and a shirt every morning. Sometimes they start wearing out and developing holes; he doesn't get them fixed until someone hesitantly points it out. Overall, he's not exactly bad looking but would look /much/ better if he wore nice clothes and grew out his hair slightly.

Personality: Riel doesn't like children much, thinking them useless unless they become journeymen/women. He only tolerates very bright children and even then feels they should be learning more quickly. He's very strict about the rules and follows a set schedule everyday.

Life up to this point: He was born at Semling Hold to a pair of very hold-bred parents; his father was a Sr. Journeyman Dolphineer and his moth a Sr. Journeywoman Weaver. They brought him up to tolerate dragonriders but try not to associate with them if at all possible. He became a jr. apprentice dolphineer as soon as possible and rose to the rank of sr. journeyman at age 25 without making many friends. He's pretty much anti-social, just staying with his dolphin partner most of the time. This additude will make it impossible to attain the rank of Master, even if he knows everything else needed.

Pet: A dolphin

Pet Description: Tarcil is a big dolphin, moving slower through the water than his fellow pod members but with longer endurance. He can still jump and twist in the air like other dolphins, a fraction lower and for a shorter period of time. He's very friendly though and doesn't understand why Riel doesn't like other humans. He's gotten a few of the un-partnered pod members to befriend the dolphineer but no humans. Tarcil is 10 years old and has been partnered with Riel for 6 of those years. He's the only thing human and animal that the man will totally open up to and they have a very close relationship.
